CCT-4 Concrete Tester

INTRODUCTION
The ultrasonic concrete tester is a portable 5-digit sound speed measuring unit, which is ideally suited for field and lab applications. It is designed for measuring the quality of concrete in a non destructive way by measuring the propagation time of a longitudinal pressure wave through the object. The display shows the speed directly in micro seconds. This gives information about the cube strength, inhomogeneities or cracks inside the material.

The instrument is portable and can be powered, either from the built-in battery, from the mains or from a 12 Volt car battery. It is delivered with the following accessories:

At the frontpanel of the instrument are located:

OPERATION
When powered from its battery, the CCT-4 is capable of 5 hours of continuous operation, starting from a fully charged battery. Powered from the mains, it automatically switches the battery to trickle-charge.

CHARGING THE BATTERY
This is done from the mains with the the power switch in the position "off". Charging an empty battery takes about 10 hours. An electronic device safeguards the battery against overcharging and automatically switches over to "trickle-charging" when the battery is fully charged.

TESTCABLES
The testcables (between transmitter and receiver heads and the instrument) are supplied in standard length of 2 meter. Longer cables (up to 10 meter) can be delivered upon request.

MEASURING HEADS
The standard cylindrical heads are best suited for transversal measurements, but can also be used (with some restrictions) for longitudinal measurements.

MATERIALS
Although the CCT-4 has been designed for testing concrete on hardening, cracks, inhomogeneities or frost and fire dammages, it can also be used for a wide range of other materials. It can be used for:
