In-line Static Eliminator for Pneumatic Conveyance

The IL-2000 is a convenient solution to the static build-up common in pneumatic conveyance systems, whether vacuum based or positive pressure. When materials are conveyed pneumatically, their constant movement often leads to static charges. The result can be jammed or clogged systems, problems with the materials as they exit the conveying system, or unwanted mixing as one batch of material is not completely removed from the system due to static cling.

The IL-2000 solves these problems by introducing ionization directly into your material conveying line. Standard sizes to accommodate lines up to 25cm (10in) in diameter are available. Installation is easy – simply open your line and press-fit to flexible piping, or use compression couplings for metal-to-metal joints. If your line is smaller than one of our exact diameters, use reducers to adapt the next larger size IL-2000 to your line. Both reducers and compression couplings are available from Chapman.

The IL-2000 is a dual-phase system for maximum static elimination. When one point is emitting positive ions, the opposing point emits negative ions, so even fast moving materials are thoroughly ionized.

Dual Phase Static Elimination

For more complete in-line ionization

For especially fast moving materials, dual phase static elimination ensures maximum exposure to ionization. In single phase systems, Alternating Current produces successive waves of positive and negative ions 50-60 times per second (50/60 Hz). This is sufficient for complete static elimination in most cases.

When material is fast-moving, as in pneumatic conveyance, the additional ionization of a dual phase system maximizes the exposure of the target material. When one emitter is producing positive ions, the opposite emitter produces negative ions. Since the positive and negative ions are produced simultaneously, they are available in constant abundance to eliminate static.

Chapman’s dual phase power supply, part number
11476-xxx, is not limited to use with the IL-2000. Use it to power two bars for dual-phase static elimination in any fast-moving process.
