Static Eliminating Tinsel

One of the most widely used passive static eliminators, Chapman Tinsel is an effective, low cost, low maintenance static control method. Known by some customers as C-42, it requires no power supplies, and functions as long as it is grounded.

Tinsel is sold in 11 meter (36ft) rolls. Cut the length needed and add springs and lugs from the attachment kit (sold separately) for a custom static solution.

Chapman tinsel is made of highly conductive 99% copper strands. It resists breakage, shedding, matting, and tip erosion to provide a long and effective service life.

Frequently used on winders and sheeters in the converting industry, tinsel is also helpful in the graphic arts. Screen printers, small presses, and business equipment can benefit from tinsel.

When used in conjunction with an active static eliminator, tinsel helps deliver a “one-two punch” to static. Reduce static with tinsel, then eliminate it completely with an active static eliminator.
