Shear Test Oven

The ChemInstruments SO-8 Shear Test Oven is a forced-ventilation oven with a ramping controller for performing heat-fail temperature shear testing of hot melt and pressure sensitive adhesives. It complies with the SAFT test method ASTM D4498. The variability of SAFT tests depends on the mass in the oven, specific heat factors, wattage of the heating system, fan speed, and program and operator technique. The oven accommodates the HT-8 High Temperature 8 Position Shear Tester, with the clock box resting on top of the oven.
The ramping controller is capable of maintaining up to 4 different programs, each with 6 intervals. Temperature is adjustable to 350━F (177━ C), with a safety shut off system programmable up to 425━F (218━ C). Temperature maintained within ‐ .1% of differential. Electrical requirements are 240 Volts; 800 watts.
